How the Pomodoro technique works

The Pomodoro Technique is a simple focus method: work in a 25-minute block, then take a 5-minute break, and after four blocks take a longer 15–30 minute break. Each focus block is called a “pomodoro.” This free Pomodoro timer runs that cycle for you — start it, work on one task until the gong sounds, then rest.

  1. Pick a single task to focus on.
  2. Start a 25-minute focus session and work without distractions.
  3. When the gong sounds, stop and take a 5-minute break.
  4. After four focus sessions, take a longer 15–30 minute break, then repeat.

Why this Pomodoro timer

Most online timers want an account, bury the clock under ads, or quietly track you. This one does none of that — it’s built to start instantly and stay out of your way.
